Popular Post Andy Posted January 29, 2018 Popular Post Report Share Posted January 29, 2018 I'm planning on making some big changes to TC this year and, as there's been a big upswing in forum traffic recently (maybe people finally realising Faecebook is a crock...) the forums will be first on my hit list. Advancements in functionality in the forums mean I can do more with them that I had to use other components for in the past. First up will be a bit of a fresher look. Nothing drastic, but the enabler for other things. Once that's done I plan on eradicating the member management system and making all registrations/logins etc via the forums themselves. The system was good in theory and has served its purpose, but never worked quite as well in real life as it did in my head. I plan on bringing the Classifieds into the forums, but in a way that they do not disrupt the rest of the forums.This is partly to make things easier for users - single site/registration etc and partly to reduce my liabilities under upcoming GDPR legislation. The less personally identifiable information I hold, the better. This is the biggie though - I plan on bringing the events calendar into the forums too. Clubs will be able to create their own individual calendars, but they will also roll up into one main master calendar. Adding an event won't require any seperate registration or permissions as is the case currently and adding an event will be as simple as making a forum post. I don't see how it can be any easier than it already is. It's at the bottom every time someone makes a post.
