Rear brake blowing bubbles

Hi All

I have a 2003 Edition and in the middle of changing the brake pads on the rear brake. I was easing the pistons out to clean and noticed on one piston, a small amount of liquid, I'm assuming brake fluid, leaks out of the side of the piston in the form of a small bubble. I'm guessing a seal somewhere has gone? Would really appreciate some guidance on what I do now. Thanks.

Did the brake work beforehand,or is that why you're changing the pads? Are you sure you haven't just pushed the piston out too far. Were the old pads contaminated with brake fluid ?If you need another calliper google Allens Used Trials Spares in the U.K.,he might have one

Thanks, Huski. Bike is new to me and the rear brake was not working well. When I took out the pads they looked wet and I had a suspicion there was a leak. Do you think I have to replace the calliper or can I replace the seal? I'll check out your recommendation. Thanks.

I have replaced the 'square' piston seals with 'O' rings..it's worked for me on Montesa 4rt, gas gas and beta. Ive fitted o rings that are either very slightly smaller ID than the piston OD or the same size with the same thickness as the square seal... Plenty of suppliers around and usually I've got 10off seals for just a few £...I have made new Pistons if they have been mauled by previous owners trying to prise them out but in most  cases the corrosion if you have any is from the seal outwards so a gentle rub with scotch brite or wet and dry should clean it up ok

The Hebo four pot calliper kits ARE available again. I just got some in a recent Gas Gas order.

They were obsolete for a while, but now Braktec are making them again. You can get just the seals, or the kit with seals and pistons.

dherbeymoto.com ?......the most well known Trials specialist shop in France .....try using a search engine Mozilla Firefox/Google or whatever you have for example input this...'Partie GasGas trial' and then get the results it really is that easy.

Or you go to the GasGas factory website, hardly difficult to find that and then find out from that site where their distributors/dealers are and you have multiple choices of who to buy from.

Try this 'Concessionaire moto trial'  it just gave me multiple shops in france to obtain parts[I am not in Disneyland Paris] and the GasGas importer for France if they cannot help you then who can.

I am not French but I am curious to know how you found the trials central site.

Thank you. I'd tried a couple of sites in the UK but they wanted more than the cost of the parts in postage and my local shops for trials parts came up with no suggestions. I found this site by chance when I first bought the bike and knew little about maintaining the bike, not that I know that much now.

Reply from dherbeymoto - Unfortunately this kit is no longer available at GasGas for several years now, there is no solution, sorry.
The only solution is to put the GasGas caliper replacement kit but the price is high.

I contacted Braketech who said

Thank you for the inquiry Kevin
Sorry to advise we do not offer OE replacement components for your GasGas...Ferodo brake pads only.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Thanks oni nou for all your time on this. I've tried to contact Braktech all morning but no response and have now spoken to Trials and Tribulations, expensive on delivery but they have the parts so I've ordered.

Cheers.
