joandemma
Hi everyone, I am a newbie to this scene and have just bought Gas Gas txt280 from a friend. Bike is great condition but front brake is really noisy in use, he had just fitted new pads to it. Have tried copperslip on piston ends and even tried making two shims but to no avail. can anyone out there help me. cheers in advance
betarick
Try cleaning disc with sand paper then brake cleaner normally does job?
mad_ max
were the conditions cold when the brake squeeked
bob
perhaps they are just squeky clean, the noise might quiten down once the pads bed in, try giving them a good clean, I had a similar noise but it just disappeared on its own. trial_master
if out squeeks in my house i just oil it..put oil on your disk..that will stop it squeeking. There are side effects though. n.wales_sherco_lad1
sand the pads down sand the disk then clean it with brake cleaner ride around for a few minutes with the brake on, it will get hot so pour cold water on the calipar and disk this will bed the brakes in and sort your problem out. if not adjust the screw on the master cylinder so you have more free play hope this helps
