Yep, but diesel fuel when it is delivered to the injector is under tremendous pressure and by rights there should be no air in the fuel anyway...air can be compressed so will prevent the injector ‘cracking’ or opening properly. A diesel fuel system that has air in it is a system with a fault, masking it with add ons just lines the pockets of the entrepreneur! Common rail systems have non return valves to prevent potential airation, poor or worn seating will cause low idle and high idle issues together with starting problems. Any seals that have been attacked by diesel should be replaced with the latest fuel proof items. Older style in line pumps and rotary pumps have their own set of wear problems such as transfer pump vanes breaking up or poorly maintained filters and leaking ‘O’ ring pump seals.
