Nick the nerve
Hi. I have just replaced the temp sender on my gg 250 txt pro, as I was getting overheating problems. The elec fine works ok when I had shorted out the fan switch on the top of the rad and although the temp sender seemed to work ok when tested in a mug of hot water, I decided to replace it anyway. After getting everything connected up and running the bike in my garage the elec fan came on for about 3 mins and then switched out. It then didn't switch in again and the bike started to overheat, any ideas anybody ?
sirdabalot
Is the pump OK?
Nick the nerve
Not looked if honest but it shouldn't effect the fan though, if the sender says its hot the fan should be on ?
lineaway
You can probably start it with your finger. Time for a new one, common problem.
Nick the nerve
Thanks lineaway, I've seen on the forums its a common problem, if its the motor on its way out, would it still run intermittently though, like it did today? lineaway
Yes. I have push stated on for weeks before. Just hot wired it on and pushed started and it would run all day. Just had to remember after every stop to spin it. But every pro is different in there Prooblems.
sirdabalot
I had a pump impeller fail and the engine would overheat before the fan started, yet the fan circuit was OK.
