andrewmorpeth
I’ve got an electrical problem with my hidria ignition system on my 2018 gp it will fire then die .No spark I’ve swapped plugs coil and cdi with a friends bike and it makes no difference it’ll run on his but not mine.If you leave it for a while the spark will return but not for long I’ve had all connectors apart and kill switch disconnected and connected?Im thinking stator? cascao
Check coils. Heat can sometimes change ohms reading on defective coils.
andrewmorpeth
You mean the stator coils? If so what readings am I looking for?
lineaway
It is a bad ground. If it will not start, try just taking the spark plug cap off, then re-install. I bet it fires, but not runs.

huski
Can you try the stator from another bike?
lineaway
My bike (before I owned it) would mysteriously stop running. Not very fun pushing the bike. I suggested removing all the stator bolts, cleaning, greasing and re - install. He also removed and cleaned up all the grounding points. It has never given me a problem since. Seems like a similar problem as it was about the same age and a Hidria ignition. It seems it would lose the ground when warm , almost working and then it would ground it self through the plug.
