jimmyk
I just got a 03 290 and I was wondering if it helps to drop down a tooth on the countershaft sprocket? I had a TXT280 before the Sherco and this change made 2nd gear very versitile. I am just concerned that the Sherco is only a 5 speed ,making commuting between sections slow . Has anyone tried this gearing change or anything else? Also do any aftermarket companies make sprockets for the sherco? Thanks JK
wayne thais
Jimmy, Try it before you make any changes, I think that you will be very happy with the gearing. The 2.9 is NOT slow between sections, my boys and I have raced ours in local Hare Scrambles and have been VERY competitive. The "02" had a very tall 1st gear and was much improved with 1 tooth lower on the countershaft sprocket. Wayne
