snowball
Sorry about this dumb topic but I removed the top bolt from the kickstart lever and removed the kickstart. I'm not sure if anything fell out but when I put it back on the kickstart is not returning to the rest position and is flopping out. What's the part no need to buy if something dropped out when I removed it. Thanks
lineaway
The lever it self or the case bolt.
rcgods
If it the bolt on the kickstarter that separates it from the knuckle on the shaft then you have probably lost the spring and a ball bearing used as a detent stopping the lever flicking out. Seems like the kickstart is only available as a unit. Time to get a magnet out and scan the floor where you took the lever off.
snowball
Oh god thanks, unfortunately I took it off in the garden, I'll never find it. I've already searched everywhere. I'm such an idiot. Expensive mistake. I should have taken out the lower bolt because there's a slight loss of fluid from the kickstart seal.
lineaway
Very common ball and spring. I am sure your local Beta dealer is smart enough to help you out.
basil
Ball bearing from a cycle shop and a spring from a dismantled biro [the push on and off type]

trapezeartist
I so nearly made the same mistake myself last week. I was just a bit luckier than you. I’m sure you’ll find a suitable ball with no problem. The spring is about the same diameter as a ballpoint pen, but much stronger.
