andyrothers
We fitted magura hydraulic rim brakes to my lads 20" da bomb with a few modifications. Hydraulic brakes come with new levers.

Yes ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The hydraulic brakes are a all in one kit, the levers are part of the piston to the master cylinder.

hrc2002
Personally, and I know many would disagree, but go for the 2004 models, not the 2005. It'll save you about 10 quid and I think the 05 levers are *****, once the TPA is usless and once it breaks the lever is useless. Whereas the 04's, you can stick a bolt in there and fix it yourself. Although if you're converting from Vee's to HS33's, you are aware that you need magura mounts on the forks? If you don't have Maggie mounts then you can buy an adapter (somewhere) that connects to the Vee mount and allows you to fit a HS33.
lewis_gasgas
Yeah but all the mount is , is a circle bit to a sqaure bit for the maguras.
doughbouysherco
I doubt you will find cheaper than this
kinell
I'm after a rear Magura brake if anyone has one lying about cheap? I've spent far too much building this bike already Edited January 19, 2006 by Kinell
hrc2002
Yeah but all the mount is , is a circle bit to a sqaure bit for the maguras. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh? What I'm saying is, if he has a front V brake, running on the cicle 'stick' shaped mount, how is he doing to connect a magura which requires a 2 bolt mount? lewis_gasgas
God knows lol think my mate had to make one but there is a conversion kit aint there?
ned1
go definatly for the 2004 magura hs33's, the 2005 ones are just rubbish. the adjuster always breaks. and also when they need bleeding, bleed them in a bucket with water! this gives the lever a much better feel, although watch out when it's cold as they'll freeze, although this has not yet happened to me.
