scorpa3
to ride in a competition or to practice without a helmet is inexcuseable, how can events run this way? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> - but long may that freedom of choice continue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are those that would use that argument against wearing helmets on the road. Others who would say the same about seat belts in cars. Even some might condone the use of drugs. Sometimes, people need to be protected against themselves. A bike flipped and landed on my head some years ago, the impact crushed the helmet shell, there wasn't a rock in sight. Had I not been wearing that helmet I would have been killed. Yes that is an extreme case, but it's extremes that we should be concerned about.
totalshell
I RATE THE ABILITY TO STAND, COMMUNICATE AND FEED MYSELF ALL A LOT HIGHER THAN THE 100 QUID I SPENT ON A HELMET ( NOT TO MENTION THE DISERVICE TO THE LADIES IF MY FACE SHOULD BE MESSED UP) SERIOUSLY ALTHOUGH WE MIGHT BE COMFORTABLE WITH OUR OWN ABILIES SO DONT FEEL THE NEED TO WEAR A HELMET, WHAT ABOUT THE YOUNG KID WHO LOSES CONTROL OF HIS BIKE AND RUNS INTO YOU. I SAW THIS HAPPEN TO TWO RIDERS , BOTH WEARING LIDS, ON ONE EVENT THAT SAW BOTH HOSPITALISED AND THE INNOCENT GUY BARELY WALKED AGAIN NEVER MIND RODE A BIKE.. rabie
Rabie - is that correct open face helmets banned in MX & Enduro?I need to know as I'm tempted to try an odd enduro or two this year. I have a full face hat, but find it restictive & claustrophobic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well you can actually to a "Twinshock look" with an open face helmet with one of those face masks that attach to the helmet and goggles (there is one guy from the eastern centre who those this). thus the normal trials helmet is a no no for MX & enduro on its own rabie
