VF mudguards

Hi I am looking for some original black VF mudguards in good second hand condition. My Father had a trials special in the 1970's, and He had four inch ones up front and looks like five and a half at the back. We still have the original mudguards, the front might still be useable, but the rear one needs replaced. I know these have been out of production for a long time so not the easiest to get. Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi I tried here, but they don't produce the original ones any more. The man I spoke to said the reason  they stopped producing the mudguards, was the Italians were producing plastic ones at half the price. It's a pity, but that's business I suppose!.

Good luck with your search, they were actually pretty good guards and looked the business too, a lot of works bikes had them on and they were standard fit on some bikes (Jefferies Honda for one). I actually have a pair, which I had fitted to my Dalesman and Ossa MAR way back then, but I wouldn't like to part with them. I'm waiting for 1973 to come back.

I don't blame you, hang on to them I would!. The rear mudguard is distorted on my father's special due to the heat from the silencer, back in the day. Looking at the black shiny trials mudguards you can get, don't think they would look right to be honest.

My Bultaco Model 124 is fitted with the later lighter coloured VF mudguards.

I have heard of the later lighter type but have never seen any. Are they a lightish black, greyish or something else?

Colour is very much like these https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/universal-translucent-plastic-mudguards/ but I think the design of them was modelled on the alloy Bultaco https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bultaco-sherpa-original-style-alloy-front-mudguard/ https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bultaco-sherpa-alpina-original-style-alloy-rear-mudguard/ which have a raised edge. I think they suit the earlier Bultaco bikes better than the Goneli ones which although a good mudguard were fitted only to the later bikes.

Cheers for that, as they say your always learning.
