rr62
I have run mine at 50:1 on a modern Putoline 2T oil (strawberry scented - apparently though i’ve never smelt that!) and seems fine.
dpyam
You will also need to richen the mixture a little if moving to premix, as some of the volume of liquid in the jets is now oil, whereas before it was pure fuel. It’s more of an issue on bikes revved hard than trials bikes, but worth bearing in mind if the bike feels a bit flat after the conversion. shakennstirred
50:1 on a modern oils is a great place to start I wouldnt go below that its just to much for a modern oil

Knocking on climbs is more likely timing, or octane to low. Increasing 2 stroke ratio will actually make it marginally worse.
