charlie chitlins
SWEET!!! Any more pics? Pics of the build? I really want to build my son a bike with a small bore 4 stroke engine.
John barnett
Hi guys thanks for the replies and comments ! biggest problem on the build was altering the frame to fit the barrel through the frame- I’ve added a pic- but it was relatively easy to cut and fabricate. It’s is a short wheelbase and very light (I’ll check- the bike is at my dads, it’s been his project to keep him busy)- but I guess maybe 2” shorter than modern trials bike and I would say 60ish kg ?. Because the wheelbase is short we had to move the handlebars forward on the triple clamps, other than fabricating engine mounts and brake pedal, all straightforward ! Just as ever it’s the little bits and pieces that take the time. I’ll take some more photos of the completed bike tomorrow - but thanks again for the comments !
Moomoo
Is it a Yamaha engine?
John barnett
No, Chinese pit bike engine. Comes complete with carb, air filter, exhaust and all electrics. I went for the largest possible front sprocket and had to have a back sprocket made to suit but gearing seems fine . cheers john
sectionone
Here's mine, all Chinese except for the Fantic Section forks and KDX200 silencer. Stock exhaust was loud. Footpegs are too far forward for trials but I use it as a trail bike and light trials. Brand new was $1200 from Amazon, no longer available. 180 lbs. http://www.xmotos.com/x8888/bk_15065905.html
stpauls
I think you should name your bike an I Tal Jet - to acknowledge the Chinese motor.
on it
Looks the part . The biggest problem in the UK for these bike is the ACU has un categorized and banned them from acu trials according to bsa otter site as they were planning to market them so pulled the plug on them
metisse
Nice job and well done... but..... in my opinion they should have a separate class for them if they are going to be competed on. As nice as it is, its another barstardised version of a twinshock.
