niponn
hello what it is the original setting of your 315r?phbl -because mine was with 13 turns for the air screw -for the needle its the 2st step from the bottom I changed the settings -air-screw :3 -needle:3 step from the bottom but she still does things strange to me: -if I put the starter, she go really high in the rpm(I almost thought the cable was blocked ,so much hight rpm) -It doesn’t all go down right away when I drop the throttle -she Knocking crankshaft its ok , but maybe the 3 ring its bad , not sure while riding, it runs just fine. but i think the idle speed its not pretty to listen but she holds the idle speed no air intake has the pipe, valve box its ok , crankshaft I don’t know she run gasoline 98 (i'm french),spark plug br7es , spark plug brown any idea suggestion , I would be happy , thank you have a good evening Edited March 11, 2020 by niponn

monteeman
if I remember correct, they changed the carb round about 2002. I know the 2003 carb was different to the 1999- 2001 models, but not sure if it changed in 2002 or 2003. Anyway, you need to use high octane fuel with these engines, they pink if you don't-knock. the spring in the top of the carb maybe needs replaced or checked if it is revving when you start it. Also check for air leaks between carb and cylinder, this can also cause it.

Hello , thank you "you need to use high octane fuel" already used its sp98 ,I think is enough? as I say i think it’s the piston or ring "air leaks between carb and cylinder" already checked, nothing at all "the spring in the top of the carb maybe needs replaced" I didn't know it could do ,when the spring is worn , I'm going to buy another one, but looks good to me she go makes this just when she is cold thank you another question the fan is supposed to turn On , at idling speed ? or after how long is it supposed to going On thanks again to both of you, have a nice day Edited March 12, 2020 by niponn
2stroke4stroke
Fan is not controlled by time but temperature and will come on at whatever engine speed it is thus triggered.

I'm trying to find out after how long the water is hot enough for the fan to activate because I don’t want to take the radiator out of the motorbike( I have disassembled far too many times this trial , but if i have not choice...) to try the switch sensor putting it in hot water , and I can’t drive a lot because I’m in town right now have a nice day
monteeman
if you start it up and leave it for 5 minutes, the fan should come on, it is switched by the thermostat in the engine, so it will come on when the temperature of the engine is reached to activate it.

I will try to let it run for more than 5 minutes, without the police coming , hoping that the sensor switch its ok because he is very expensive, considering the little thing that is it , the fan is allready controled thanks you have a good afternoon
