motochamp125
Hello guys, my name is Ves from Sofia, Bulgaria. After riding MX and Enduro for years i just got my first trial Sherco 2.9 2002 and unfortunately immediately got in trouble. The bike is great, the problem is that the right fork tube is slightly bent and seal leaking, so as there is no Sherco dealer in Bulgaria, ordered the fork tube and all bushings from a dealer in Germany. The part # R099 i got from the official online parts catalog. So I have waited for 6 weeks and today the fork tube finally arrived and it is totally different at the bottom side (the left one is the new wrong one, the right one is my old damaged tube), at the same time on the label the part # is correct R099. Although i have sent photos to the dealer, they still sent me a wrong part how come it is possible that the correct part # comes with a wrong part? i guess there are several different types of Paioli forks.. is there something i am missing, or i am wrong? how can i find the correct part for my bike. Furthermore the dealer informed me that the teflon coated bushings (Spacers) part# R133 (position 14 in the diagram) are No Longer available from the factory... i badly need them too because they are in very bad condition.. are there any aftermarket bushings or professional and reliable online source where i can order parts ? I would really appreciate any help/info on my issue, thank you in advance cheers Ves
faussy
Says on your packaging, 2000. Have a feeling 2000 had different forks because one side was compression, the other damping. If you look at https://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-new-type-fork-tube-l-r.html they list the r099 fork tube from 2001 onwards, so 2000 must have different fork tubes, which is possibly what you have received. Although if you look at these https://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-99-fork-tube-left.html https://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-99-fork-tube-right.html which are for the 99/2000 forks they have different part numbers, r080, r081. Still none the wiser. Maybe you have got a 2000 tube incorrectly labelled as being r099.... And since that label doesn't seem to be an OEM label its a high possibility In case you cant source a cheap correct tube, some good fork rechromers will straighten bent fork legs as part of their rechroming service. Check splatshop for the bushings, they might have some new old stock. Are these correct? https://www.splatshop.co.uk/splat-paioli-fork-bushs.html Edited March 26, 2020 by faussy
tony27
Sherco updates parts & keeps the same part number if the parts are interchangeable, very possible that the radius at the bottom of the tube was a change made between when the replacement tube was made & your original tube was made

roktbox
This may be helpful for me as I'm just finishing up rebuilding my 2006 Paioli forks (and the rest of the bike, for that matter). I've sourced almost everything from SplatShop and they've been excellent to deal with. Re: the forks. I swear I pulled the dampening cartridge from the side with the plastic compression valve and spring collar in the stanchion. I've now tried to reassemble both left and right stanchions with the cartidge or the spring assembly and neither will drop through or "pass" that collar in order to insert and thread the Allen bolt that holds them to the bottom of the fork leg. I'm obviously doing something quite simple incorrectly, but I can't figure out what it is. Doesn't seem logical that either of those assemblies would have slipped out smoothly while removing them, but be so hard to reinstall. The 2006 spares manual shows that BOTH stanchions have the collar components in them, which doesn't help.
