lineaway
No matter what, you need to pull the cover off and take a look.

gasgasman280-
The crack you heard was most likely the kickstart engagment gear crapping itself. A regular occurance with gassers. Every one of mine has either eaten its ks gear or the shaft or both.
d2w
Yup, it's time to open it up. Do be aware that for an initial inspection you can keep the coolant system intact (i.e., you can remove the water pump and clutch cover as a unit without first draining the coolant), and if you lay your bike on it's left side you can remove the clutch cover without first draining the oil. Jim Snell has a video on servicing the PRO clutch and it discusses these simplifications (as well as talks about a shim on the kick-starter shaft). It's all good stuff. zippy
Also take a look at the cover in the area around the kickstart to make sure the cover did not also crack during the "event".

Craig hig
I’ve taken the cover off and found that the gear has snapped
lineaway
You still have to remove the clutch to see the idler gear too.

Craig hig
Someone before me has had a go of removing the clutch and has rounded the head of the Allen key bolt ?
lineaway
It is supposed to be a hallow bolt. So easy enough to drill the head off and remove the clutch. Then the bolt should come out fairly easily.
crazybond700
Also remember not to turn the waterpump and crank. Also do assamble the cover when the bike is flat on its side.
