faussy
Wanting to paint my front ajp caliper black to make it look like an original grimeca. Given that i always spill brake fluid when bleeding should i worry about the type of paint i use? Rattle can do ok, or should i use 2k? Im thinking high temp matt black may give the most realistic satin look, but worried it will just rub off when i spill brake fluid over it Edited July 4, 2020 by faussy
jonnyc21
I would expect most rattle can paint to not deal with brake fluid well. If I was going to do a caliper I would See about that home power coating stuff.
djr
2K would be better than a can, but you may get good results with a can on something as small as a caliper High temp paint may be needed on a road bike, but would a trials brake get hot enough to need it ? as for brake fluid , I think some of the modern fluids are glycol based , which is not so harmful to paintwork as the older fluids were
