nigel dabster
Is it now or never for Doug this year. 8 titles would be sooooooooooo good then no one could ever say he wasn't the best of all time even if we know he is already. I really think if the bike is better he has at least one more chance, and wouldn't it be the best of all to come back and beat the others when the competition is at its greatest. He wasn't that far away last year and if it hadn't been for the accident in France (bike?) things would have been closr. With another winter of test and development a contract with a big win bonus whats to stop him. Go Dougie!
its a kinda magic
With so many riders capable of winning a world round this year i think consistancy could be the Key factor for Doug.
kinell
With 7 outdoor titles on the trot, I honestly don't think consistency is a problem for Doug. No disrespect to Ben Hemmo but I'm sure that having Jim back as the main minder will give him and the whole team a big morale boost. "Come in No. 8, your time is up!" petec
What's to stop Doug , my guess is the bike, When you have the calibre of rider that Montesa has and they struggle to reach the final of any of the indoor events, surely the performance of the bike comes into question! nigel dabster
Maybe indoor is exaggerating it but only one podium in 2years is that right?
robin m. s/c
Don't base his potential outdoors on the indoor results. They are riding the 2005 factory bikes as the 2006 bikes are being prepared for the outdoor season and Miguel said at Sheffield that for indoors the bike was only a little better than last year but for outdoors it was a lot better. cota kid
I've seen the Montesa in action both indoors and outdoors I believe in the right hands it is as competetive as the 2 strokes. Doug has the right hands. This year he will go on to his eight world title. I would like to think that this website could provide as much support as possible to Doug and his team for the coming 2006 WTC. One way of supporting Doug is to get to the WTC events at home and abroad and give him and all the other GB lads your support. I'm sure it will be appreciated. There's plenty of budget airlines out there for the European trips.

toofasttim
The last two years Doug has forfeited the title because of injury. If can go thru' the year with a big "fiasco" I reckon he's in with a chance for title no 8.

Are you saying that last year the montesa factory bikes were that much behind the other bikes? Or have the other bikes inproved THAT MUCH!? Dont get me wrong i think doug is no doubt a freak of nature and deserving of an eight world title But looking at the bike he has taken the money to ride on i think it will be very very hard!
