bulfrankx5
hi is it essential to wire clutch nuts and how tight should nuts be handbook says nuts should be fully tightened then backed off 3 full turns my lobito 175 has the smoothest and lightest clutch ive ever come across daft question what sort of wire......some can be brittle it needs ductility??? maybe copper ...too soft??? suggestions please
feetupfun
Set the nuts so: The pressure plate moves out parallel. There is just enough drive to kick start the motor without the clutch slipping. You can set this with the clutch cover off but the plates need to be well lubed. Stainless steel lock wire. Copper wire work hardens. Of course it would go fine for a while without wiring but do you need the stress in your life of wondering if they were going to move?

carl ekblom
I use all metal lock nuts. After two years no problem at all. I think nylock may deteriorate in transmission oil and heat Edited October 10, 2020 by carl ekblom
