I’m assuming it’s HDPE , high density polythene ? I have a little sherco 50, and i’m going to plastic weld the fuel tank around the petcock area as it’s damaged and had previously been fixed with Epoxy . mcman56 Posted December 10, 2020 Report Share Posted December 10, 2020 I had a 2002 with a translucent tank and the tank grew over time. I ended up having to slot the mounting hole and it got harder and harder to push down between the tubes. I read somewhere that it is the alcohol in US gas that causes the expansion.
