Baker59
Any answers/ suggestions are appreciated. I'm knee deep in a 1977 TY-250 build and I'm wondering ... Has anyone decided to remove the factory head and tail/stop light? The bike will never be road legal and I don't plan on taking it out at night so I'm thinking I remove the lighting coil from behind the flywheel and delete the other bulbs and harness. Any thoughts or tips?
feetupfun
I would think that most twinshock TY250s have had the lights and wiring for them removed. Yes it makes sense to remove the lighting stator coil too to reduce bike weight, but most people don't bother. My tips are: Keep it all in case you change your mind or want to sell the bike. Take care not to damage the ignition stator and its wiring while you are at it.
Baker59
Thanks for the info! I think I'll go that route because parts of my lighting system aren't in the greatest shape either. Have a great day!
