AlanC
Hi Folks, Silly question of the day. Knocked out the old wheel bearings on my old Gasgas. Opened the packet of 4 new ones. All correct size (4 of them). But I seem to have 5 old ones on the floor. Did 3 bearings come out of the rear wheel? Is there 2 on the sprocket side? Or am I dreaming. Circlips were both in place on the wheel before I started. New to working on a Trials bike, but is there an extra bearing to take the sprocket force, like the sprocket carrier bearing on a road bike? tony27
If you're talking pre2000 then yes there are 2 bearings on the sprocket side
AlanC
Ah, that would make more sense. It's a '95. Are they meant to be side by side, tight against each other. And the centre spacer has 2 different length collars. Which would be on the sprocket side? And thanks for answering so quick.
AlanC
Ok, got the bearings sorted today. Different collared spacers each side were confusing me. Different question. Is there some sort of internal collar between the needle roller bearings in the swing arm where it connects to the linkage?
AlanC
Answered my own question. The hole runs straight through. All old bearings finally removed.
