ev..
trial is not so common around here within a 4 hour drive radius the only used trialsbike in a bike-#7-price-range other than the Fantic 301 you told me to stay clear off is a 97 Beta Techno I do not want to compete only have fun, improve my trail riding skills and on occassion take the trials bike on a tough trail any opinion from a real trials rider, is the Techno a learners bike? or should I go on looking? if so what should I look for? the TY-S175F sounds like something I'd like to have, but my wallet does not agree with another new bike my question is not what kind f wear and tear to specificly look for when I check the bike that I found in old Beta threads appreciate your help ev
ruffrider
Hi ev and welcome. I have a Techno '97 250 and my lad has a Techno '97 125. We're not good riders but we have a good time. The bikes are solid enough and do exactly what we want them to. Their reliable and have capabilities far in excess of ours. In 97 I understand Dougie rode the Techno so they have a good pedigree. You'll see on these forums that there's absolutely loads of Beta riders with enormous amounts of advice. There might be better bikes for the best riders, but for general use I'd say go for a Techno. You won't be making a mistake!
trialsmm
A better "beginner" bike would be same year or newer GasGas 270. Softer deliver of power.
adsy
I personally would advise against an older Gas Gas, the Techno was a good solid bike, with good build quality.
