radlaty
Can any one tell me what the difference is from a 2001 sherco and a 2002 model, not too sure what year my 2.0 bike is. cheers
copemech
On the '01 bike the mud guards were clear coated over the decals. The clear came off fairly easily in the wash. Depending upon when the bike was built the first gear ratio may be different.
shercoholic
The 01 was the first year of the rear compact silencer, but without the plastic boot shield which was fitted in 02. The 01 rear brake caliper was above the swingarm not tucked inside, but even the later 02 didn't change to the 4 pot front caliper and the 4 bolt sprocket as did the newer 2.5 & 2.9 models. http://www.sherco-moto.com/history.html Take a look at the pictures as the stickers might help you identify your model. The 01 had lots of chevron type markings and flat Sherco side frame stickers incorporating the bike size, while the 02 had the bubble stickers with out the engine size. copemech
Keep in mind that the 1.25 and 2.0 did not recieve the upgrades that the 2.5 and 2.9 did in '02 as it seem they used a lot of the leftover parts on the smaller bikes.
