JonM
Quick question; I watched a Jim Snell video on changing the waterpump impeller shaft + seal and he recommends using 'red silicone grease'. So is that silicone grease? Or red rubber grease? Anybody know?
wheelieman14
I bought some Castrol Water Pump grease to lubricate impeller shaft and oil seal inner surface from Rimmerbros.co.uk. Castrol Water Pump Grease (for Gland Type Water Pumps NLG14) It seems to work well, but also think that a waterproof wheel bearing grease would suit this need. I opted (about 3hrs ago) to go with a silicone grease from Amazon. It's waterproof so I'd like to think it'd do the job, I just wanted to use the right tools for the job.
