I just noticed that the frame in your photo is different to a 115 frame and a 116 frame I have here. Yours is missing some frame elements that connect the rear uprights to the central rear down-tube. Your model 115 frame looks like my model 138 frame in that section of the frame. Your headstock gusseting looks the same as these 115/116 frames which is different to the 137/138 frame. The 137/138 models followed the 115/116 models so I'm wondering if your frame may be near the end of the production of of the model 115.

Here are photos of the model 115 and model 116 frames I am referring to

Hi feetupfun, I'm curious which bits you're referring to at the rear of the frame. I have a very late M116 frame which has had a few things cut off and added on and I am curious to see how they compare. It would also be a good reference for putting mine back to stock.

Thanks

Crank inspection without opening: play from the connecting rod

0.5 mm when 2.5 is allowed.

I will change the crank seals left and right, no opening from the main casing scheduled yet ( Will we inspect more after the opening from the clutch casings  and seals removed).

I see to options: engine rebuilt or very low hours, the sprockets are also "clean" which is another good  indication ..

Gearbox sprocket oil seal    (Bultaco part #160-001)    30 x 40 x 7mm.

Gearchange shaft seal        (Bultaco part #160-004)   14 x 24 x 7mm.

These are conventional lipped garter-type seals - should be obtainable from your local bearing/seal supplier.

I have marked the frame elements red in this photo

Ah thanks, I hadn't seen that Divouneh's frame was lacking that extra loop. Mine does have that. One of these days I should start a frame thread, but I'll have to find the cable for my camera first.

Today, not a good news: the oil level was low in the gear box, quite half from the requested volume 😏

We have to recognize that the maintenance is not easy, to drain to check the oil volume.

What is your experiences with this oil level practice? 🧐

I'm quite interested in the development in the design of Bultaco frames, especially Alpinas and Sherpa Ts.
