nick collier
Hello boys and girls. I have just bought a TY250, (1993).Info on its exact model name would help. It is my first foray into trials bikes. I have off-roaded on my DR350, but always fancied trials. As a total wobbler, can anyone give me any advice on good sites to get info, and preferably a manual, for the bike? Also, anywhere to have a go at some gentle trialling. I am near St. Albans, Herts. johnnyboxer
Going on what you say about the year, being 1993.............if it's aircooled it'll be a TY250R or Pinky - both roughly the same OR if it's watercooled it'll by a TYZ
nick collier
Cheers Johnny. It is aircooled, and does have the pink seat and mudguard, so that points to it being the "Pinky" I suppose!!

wobbly1
I used to have a Pinky and found the following site to be a useful source of information. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ty-list/
nick collier
Cheers lads. The bike is air-cooled, and does have a disc brake, so a "Pinky" it is. Now then. On my first, over-exuberant, go at a stand-up wheelie, I managed to break the throttle cable carrier on the handlebars. I have managed to find a replacement, but it is an "Amal, slow speed throttle". Does this mean that it needs more of a twist for the same amount of go?? Is this a good or a bad thing for a novice? Nick
essex rider
this is a good thing as this way a little twist and bad clutching wont rip your arms off and allows more gentle riding
