dozerash
I have a 1980 SWM TL320 that I have a new seat for. The old one was strapped on. Anyone have a good way to mount the seat and be able to take it off easy to work on filter? This one doesn’t have the quick release because at one time it had a metal tank. Thanks
dozerash
This bracket was what someone had on another SWM I had. Any ideas to make this work?
pschrauber
The "Problem is the fixing between the gas tank and the metal mount. The gas Tank is made out of PE or PP so glue does not work properly, The only way are mechanicly by screws where there is material / wall thickness of the gas tank available or to glue the metal piece together by heat and then melt plastic rivits upon as fasteners. Why don't you fabricate an attachment / mount that will have the fasteners at the same position as the old ones, That is what I would try? Yeah your right I should get rid of that bracket that someone made. I would like to fabricate a simple quick release for the seat.
metisse
A chum of mine fabricated a new mount at the tank end and then we drilled through the rear mudguard and using an insert in the seat , had an small allen headed bolt to secure. It was easy to access, and quick to undo.
pschrauber
In need I can give the original measurement of the gas tank seat bracket. The mount is neat, makes sense and works pefect in combination with the locking mechanism which is too included. I even have two spare tanks and also a repro seat that should still be in my inventory of SWM spare parts. But no bracket.
