ChrisCH
Acu website is first place to start. https://www.acu.org.uk Clubs near you but you are at the junction of three regions so a bit complex for the nearest. There used to be events at Barnack when I was a lad but no idea if that venue still used. Edited November 6, 2021 by ChrisCH
trapezeartist
Look at AMCA too. They don't sanction as many events as the ACU but their events tend to be more laid-back. If there are AMCA events in your area, they might suit you too.
turbofurball
And if you just fancy a go at trail riding check out the Trail Riders' Fellowship, if you're completely new to off road then that's not a bad way to dip your toes in. TrailsBike
Thank Q Guys. From an acorn does a might oak tree grow. My son (10yrs) & I went on an experience day at Inch Perfect in Lancashire. We used 2 electric trials bikes which I hadn't expected to be as good as they were. It's a different"bike ride' than I'm used to but an excellent new sport to do with children 10 yrs upwards. I'm looking at bikes though and which road to follow being Enduro, trail or Trial. I was supprised on the quietness of the electric bike (battery life) as opposed to the Castro smell (thrill) of combustion engine. turbofurball
For you to spend time with your son, trials makes the most sense. And it's a sport that electric power is ideally suited to. Trail riding with a 10 year old puts you in legally dubious territory. Enduro is fast, aggressive, noisy, and you don't exactly have opportunities to stop and chat. Also, if he takes to it, trials equips you with superior motorbike skills for enduro and safe trail riding at a later date 1
