crash bandit
Yet another silly question from me. How do you top up the gear oil? I can't see a filler for the life of me. Also, what grade should I use? TXT 270 1998. Edited February 17, 2006 by crash bandit

lewis_gasgas
WArm up your engine first and then drain out your existing oil (plug is under bike will be a hole in the sump plate ) then once empty put plug in (clean plug as they are usually magnetic and get any metal in there on them) then fill it up in the hole either near the kickstart or i had to use the sight glass to do mine on a 98 model clean out sight glass ect then warm up the bike before you do anything. chris morris
I had a 98 tx250 so heres some measures; Fork oil : 7.5 weight 330ml in each leg Radiator : 500ml pure coolant Gearbox oil : 10w40, 650ml Swingarm bearings : Hk1520 2rs Also if i remember rightly there is no specific filler you have to remove the spy glass and fill it through the spy glass hole.
