dr nosh
Last on here a lot when building a 248. Now that has gone, I am looking at a MH200, year 1983. (According to the VMCC dating cert for the V5). So, one key question. It has a plastic tank under the cover. What is the current position with modern, ethanol fuel with the plastic. Do you need to use a 'special' additive in the fuel? Does the tank have to be lined? Is there an alloy fuel tank from another Montesa that fits as a replacement? woody
The MH200 came with a plastic tank and seat unit, like the MH349, there was no cover with a tank underneath so it sounds as though someone has made a modification. It was the ealrier UK sold bikes with fibreglass tanks that had a seperate tank and cover The original MH tanks aren't affected by modern fuel. If the tank on yours is one of the pit bike type tanks, same as used under some TLR Honda tank covers they are fine with modern fuel

dr nosh
Also heard that kickstart gears are 'a known problem'. I was looking to buy this bike, but I'm cooling off a little....😐
barnesy
200's are great bikes, you will find it a lot more agile than your 248.. Kick start gear are more of an issue on 242s, I believe you can get replacement gears from inmotion
