RIBSIE
Hi haven’t been on for a while but now got myself another bike so would appreciate some help, is it poss to re spray a plastic tank without it cracking , cheers
djr
Cracking is not usually the problem as there are flexible Additives for 2K paint (and plastic primers) The problem with painting a plastic tank is usually that petrol fumes bleed through the plastic and cause the paint to bubble and lift off. ( Can do the same to stickers) However , I have seen a couple of plastic tanks painted where the paint has stayed okay, I don't know if this is just luck or if the type of plastic or it's thickness make a difference ?
RIBSIE
Thanks for the reply that’s the problem I was meaning I think I’ll just try to tidy up the one I’ve got without painting it tanks again
