hrc2002
Just been looking at the bars on Adam Raga's gasgas, do these come standard with the 04? I have also tried to find some, and I found a pair like it, but I'm unsure if they are the exact make. With the handlebars I found you must have specialised clamps for them. For an idea of what there like they do not have a crossbrace and are a black colour and of a big thickness, does anyone have these bars also? cubby
Haven't seen Gasser bars like this for sale anywhere but Scorpa's have (or had) them on. Definately have to have an alternative clamp set up to have them on. Looks cools though........
monty01
Someone told me that raga uses pro taper motocross bars.don't know weather its true?
hrc2002
If you go here and click VIDEOS on the left hand side menu, there is a big picture of Raga and you can see which bars I mean. Download the video also, very impressive.
wayneg
From the look of it they are just standard tapered bars. Beta had them on their '98 Techno and Scorpa have them on the SY 2 strokes. Both come from Domino (I think) and would be better than Pro Tapers as they come in a trials bend. You do need different clamps for either. About the only problem with them is that because your front brake and clutch lever assemblies do not have a taper they always some a bit loose part way through the day. I have started taking my small set of allen keys with me to periodically tighten things up. Heres a picture of mine anyway;
jtt
Hebo makes a "taper" bar and clamps. The clamps shown seem to be the "special racing edition" units listed on the GasGas website (under "racing" and "trials"). In fact both the bars and clamps are shown there. I have started taking my small set of allen keys with me to periodically tighten things up. That's rather odd Wayne, as the taper generally ends just at the bend to the control surface....at least on any of the ones I've used (Hebo, ProTaper, Renthal, Tag). The control surface should be the same diameter all the way along. Perhaps the Domino ones are slightly different.
wayneg
I only have very small fingers, so my brake and clutch levers are probably further inwards than a lot of people would use. But I need to be able to use the controls effectively so am sort of stuck with the problem as the taper only ends about 1/2" from the grips. I'm sorry about the picture being so big, I had shrunk it down a fair bit and then got feed up with fiddling with it......

wayne thais
I have used the tapered bars for years, first on my 99 TXT270 and now on my Sherco. I used the same bars on the 99 then on the 02 and the 03, I still have them as spares, I put a new pair of TAG bars on my 04. I purchased the bars and clamps from ERE. I have a special triple clamp for my Sherco, it is a custom bracket that was deisgned for a GG. The 99 Sherco/Bultaco upper triple clamp will accept the clamps. The tapered bars absorb shock which is easier on my old joints, they are also almost unbendable. Fly racing sells a set of adapters that allow the use of the tpaered bars with the stock Sherco upper triple clamp www.flyracing.com.
