MSedgwick
I'm 10 rides in on my 2023 EM pure race. I live and ride the steep trail geography in the mountains. However, I'm already needing more power for certain features (very, very steep rock pitches). The EM can't maintain the velocity required - it slows (bogs) on these few features. I thought to change the front and rear sprocket ratio to gain low end power, but on evaluation its already fitted with an 11 tooth front and 57 tooth rear - does this leave anywhere to go on this front? Can anyone think of a way to coax more grunt out of the bike? It feels like a way heaver flywheel might do something - if I could spool it up but I don't think that's really an option either. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions. Perhaps at the end of the day this is the limit of the current iteration and I will need to accept and appreciate what it does offer... Cheers, Mark
turbofurball
On 125s it's not unusual to drop to a 10 tooth front sprocket, definitely worth a go! (you can go down to 9 from there too, but that shortens the life of the chain a lot in my experience)
bikerpet
I believe you can fit 10 / 61 gearing. Should help everything except top speed, & who cares about that, just enjoy the scenery a bit more.
