axulsuv Posted March 4, 2006 Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 On both of my 240 engines the clutch arm on the crankcase has been lenghtened, and they both will only work with the domino levers, because of the pivot ratio of the levers. I tried shorty lever on the clutch and couldn't get freeplay or clutch action only one or the other, but the short lever worked great on my brake with the braided stainless cables I had made. So my levers don't match and my clutch lever looks out of place, but it works with one or two fingers just fine... Have fun and keep your fantic alive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lee harris Posted March 4, 2006 Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 The first thing to do is use a teflon coated cable and a lever from domino. Then add a 428 chain lintk to the top of the lever fixed with a 3mm or 4 mm nut and bolt. (You may haver to drill the clutch arm slightly). Finally raise the cable fixing block in top of the motor to stop the cable kinking. The added leverage will lighten the clutch without having too much travel! HTH Lee PS. bilco Posted March 5, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 thank you for the suggestion's guy's ill try them out and see what suit's me best,after 20 year's of the bike sitting in the garage i decided to bring her back to life most thing's needed to be replaced i just forgot how stiff the clutch got to use so hopefully now i can complete a trial without my hand seizing up and ending up in a tree. i've heard through the grapevine fantic are coming back into production in the near future,there's allready some new part's for the older bike's making there way through to the market,i managed to get a full engine gasket set for it the other day which i think would'nt have been possible in the past. thanks again. steve.
