miner
Is there an end float dimension/spec for the crank when refitted the casings? Doing ok with the exploded parts diagrams and mechanical nous… but want to check this one before I pull the crank and bolt it back up. lineaway
Not that I ever remember. Once it is buttoned up there is not much room to move.Biggest thing is getting the two shafts and shift drum to to fit right.
miner
Cool. Checked the 300 KTM manual for comparison, just says to fully butt it up before putting the other case on.
carl ekblom
There MUST be some, we can call it "endfloat". Normal is 0.25-0.5 mm to compensate for heat variations etc. It does not make any harm at all.
brt650
If your replacing the main bearings, the flywheel side bearing has an oil drain hole in it. It needs to line up with the drain back hole to the gearbox area. It’s the lower one. Actually, the new style bearings, from late 2003 on , have a drain hole drilling in them. The right side doesn’t need to be lined up.
miner
The main bearings were ok, just swapped out the gearbox bearings as a couple of them were grumbly.
