cjard
I bought a Sherco 250 that was claimed to be a 2009, but it doesn't appear to have a frame number I can use to confirm.. The frame was powder coated an interesting color and stripping away the powder coat on the neck of the frame merely showed metal that had a sort of sandblasted appearance (rather than polished smooth) Ignoring for a moment how questionable it is that this would be the case, are there any features of the frame, engine, etc that I can use to confirm year? It seems to have had plenty of other parts switched too; the yoke clamps are definitely altered and I think it has 40mm marzocchis fitted.. faussy
A picture would help. Pre 2010 was a pressed frame with conventional tank and airbox, while 2010 onwards frame was made from round tubing with an inverted tank and airbox 99-05 frame had one brace at the headstock, 06-09 had two braces. Engines (afaik) changed very little over those years bar colour Edited August 27, 2023 by faussy
