70sBulRacer
Hey riders, my current project is a very neglected Lobito 175 Mk4 (model 76). After disassembling and inspecting the gearbox, nothing is broken, but the countershaft has a worn area where the sleeve gear bronze bushings contact. I’ll obviously need a new shaft and sleeve gear bushings, but I’ve noticed that some later 5 speeds had two sets of caged needle bearings instead of the bronze bushings for the sleeve gear. Anyone know if it’s possible to retrofit the needle bearing shaft to an earlier gearbox?
lemur
Sweet little bike 😎 needle bearings are something you can easy source if you have all the required dimensions, bushings are easy to make. Determine what size you need and should be easy.
