epp
Hi, I broke my clutch master cylinder on my 2022 Beta 250 evo & was wondering if there was a master cylinder with more/better feel than the OEM unit? Thanks Chris
nhuskys
Feel on a Beta Evo clutch is all over the map, regardless of Braktec master on the Factory or Grimeca master on the Standard. The larger 30mm slave cylinder from Hippel Racing, has improved feel on my last two Factory models.
epp
I've ordered a Hippel 30mm slave cylinder. It will probably take a couple weeks to get to Tasmania. I'll put a story once it's fitted & I've used it for a couple hours.
epp
Well I finally received, fitted and tried the Hippel 30mm clutch slave cylinder. The lever has a lighter pull, the gear change is easier, I can find neutral with the motor running, I can push the bike backwards in gear & I have better clutch feeling at the lever. It was well worth the money, a big thumbs up from me for the Hippel 30mm clutch slave cylinder on my 2022 Beta 250 evo.
epp
Another thing I've just tried for 10hrs was GRO gear extreme 75w oil, that has also helped heaps with clutch drag. I can move the bike in gear with the clutch pulled in. I tried Penrite 75w80, Motul trans 10w-40 & Motul 5100 10w-40. At the lever they all felt about the same & all had the same clutch drag before & after the Hippel slave cylinder. They all had less drag after fitting the Hippel but the GRO 75w is much better. With the GRO 75w it feels like the clutch locks up better (if that makes sense) but has a more accurate feel at the lever. If I did it all again I'd try the oil 1st (cheaper) & then if still not happy try the Hippel 2nd. Hope this can help someone else with the Beta clutch. Tr1AL
If drag is a problem and you cannot obtain GRO 75w then try to get Motorex trial clutch oil as it has a similar effect
