Dedicated new thread for this promising new wee beastie.

Who has one or is waiting for theirs to arrive?

I am curious how it stacks up against the aged Beta B/W 80. Looks like a big bike rear & small bike front. Very neat.

People talk of restricting tyre width or harder compounds to stop the top riders needing dangerous sections to test them ,  an 80cc maximum capacity could open up the  competition to lesser mortals. It would be amazing to see what happened if that rule was brought in.

Still looks like a 21 front 18 rear. Useless! Yes ,the frame and wheelbase look shorter but I dont believe theres a big gap in the market for a bike like this. Its the small wheel beta 80 that needs competition and and alternative to. Some kids go straight from the small wheel 80 straight to a 125, and those that go to the big wheel 80 spend less than a year on it before going to a 125.

Bump. 7 months later, no one has seen, heard or rode one yet?

I know they are selling, The Hell Team down under sold out, SW Trials & Enduro in the UK sold a couple early on & TRS USA just received their last one.

We’ve had one for a few months now. The little one rides it and has spent about 10-12 hours on it. Previously a Beta 80, and now this TRS. In terms of frame and finish, it's a significant improvement. The geometry fits better, and the suspension is a step up. The engine is noticeably more responsive. Although the engine still needs to break in, I found the Beta stronger at lower revs. Overall; better geometrie, more responsive, better weight distribution, large wheels and a step up in suspension.

What is really disappointing is the carburetor setup; it’s quite difficult to get it to run properly. I know that we are not the only one with this problem... On the other hand i'v met some trs 80 owners with significant more hours on them and they do tend to get better as they wear in. But for now it's a pain in the **s to get it running properly.

I was wondering about that big carb.  To be fair, my Beta 80 ran poorly until I found a tuning article for the Dellorto carb. What elevation are you at?

Sea level, or actually 5 below sea level 😉

I am at 2500 feet, but my riding varies from 2500 to 5500 feet. How much have you changed the jetting?

Default settings are 55 / 120, needle on the fourth clip. Current setting is 58/120 with the needle on the fourth clip.

The Beta howewer is also 80cc. Runnig is size smaller carb (26 vs 28 on the trs) and i never had any problems with it. It was was an older model with lots of hours on it but still more stable. Wouldn't go back to the Beta and still prefer the TRS but we'll see how this issue evolves.

I believe the Beta 80 runs a Dellorto phbg 21 which is considerably smaller. The Dellorto 26 from the ONE/R TRS would bolt right on if you wanted to be adventurous.

You're correct. I would like to try a smaller one but haven't had the time to test nor do I have a spare carb laying around..
