My 2002 txt 200 has roughly a 5mm gap As long as you have the large pressed steel washers sitting in the rear swing arm spindle hole of the engine casings then the gaps between the outer swing arm pivot points and the frame do not matter as the engine casings as one unit keep the swing arm centered., the steel washers protect the casing edges from wear obviously. I know what you mean it does seem like it would be weakened by being like that but it works fine, I never saw a problem on one caused by the gap as long as the bushings and spindle are good.
