cello
Hi Inmates, I have a question on the EVO 250 2014 , OK so this is my first trials bike and I have to say compared to my MX / Enduro the barrel from the outside looks more like a 125 then a 250. I know that in order to be 100% you need to take the head off and measure the bore but can anyone confirm that their EVO 250 engine barrel externally is around 11.5 cm wide. That would help put my mind at rest that its not a 125 or 200. If there is any other way to determine the cc of the engine externally that would be useful to know, thanks. Tr1AL
@cello It does not make it a certainty on your engine size but standard gearing on a 2014 EVO 125cc is 9/43 200cc is 11/42 250cc is 11/41.
feetupfun
You could take the exhaust header off and measure the bore diameter through the exhaust port. The Beta 125s I've seen have a different exhaust header shape to the 200/250/270
reggie
Take off the header pipe off and measure the bore 72.5mm for 250 if my memory is any good
cello
Cheers the gearing is correct 11/41 and yes I have a leaky header so I need to remove the expansion pipe section to fix that anyway. Thanks , great advice !
