Hi,

Hope you will enjoy this project bike.

Historical review. (google translate ...)
Dougie had been riding for Beta for ages.
He won the 97. 98. 99 world outdoor titles on the Techno.
For the year 2000, Montesa - Honda offers the services of the English champion.

In the commercial career of the 315R, the year 2000 saw the arrival in series of the Showa fork and the DID rims mounted on machined and polished hubs in their center.

Doug's factory bike will foreshadow the 2001 production model in the following ways:
-A longer exhaust tip.
-A swingarm assembly modified to accommodate a caliper hidden behind it. (the rear hubs are narrower)
-A shock absorber with a longer center distance and a slightly shorter stroke.
-A slightly higher upper shock absorber mounting

The base motorcycle for this replica is a 2002 model.
It therefore presents some of the elements common to the factory motorcycle.

I collected the photos and watched the videos from the era to identify the specifics of the factory bike.
Carbon headlight plate
Carbon fork bridge
Lightened wheel axles
Carbon Kevlar fork slider protection
Flat carbon tank
Renthal handles and handlebars.
Titanium screws
Factory rear wheel
Factory rear brake disc
Sponsor stickers, decoration (which evolves during the season to take on the colors of the 2001 bike at the end of the 2000 season)
Stainless steel factory exhaust manifold (not available)
Longer central exhaust (not available)
Longer silencer (not available) with straight perforated tube
Different brake lines
Footrest plates treated without paint
Carbon kevlar air box (not available)
Golden Iris chain
Carbon air box cover with circular opening (from Mitani)

I have already made good progress on this bike.
I found a real factory rear wheel (from Josep Banyeres)
The rim has a special profile.
The side has a concave edge (straight on the series) and has no marking.
The nuts are ergal against steel on the series.
The lighter factory disc is very specific I mounted in series, never marketed.
Titanium screws and SKF bearings.
Factory Gripster (spacer plus blue aluminum nut)

I overhauled the fork, the calipers and master cylinder, the links are new.
Handles, handlebars, levers, cable, front & rear disc protectors, swingarm pad, tensioner pad, crown protection etc.
Among the new parts that have become unobtainable are the 2000 mudguards and the bashplate.

The engine will be completely overhauled.
Bearings, spy, connecting rod, piston, plating.
Preparation: upper & lower engine alignment, deburring/cleaning of the cylinder, lighter ignition rotor, lighter complete Mitani clutch (treated aluminum discs), straight silencer inner tube, iridium spark plug.

Not knowing the engine preparation of the factory motorcycle, failing to have the performance.
I want a 250cc that breathes well and sounds clean.
New parts:
-tires
-handlebar
-handles
-levers
-tips
-throttle handle
-bearings
-brake pads
-Absolutely all the trim and all the plastic parts.
- engine plate
-link and rockers
- very light special tank
- carbon trigger guard and headlight plate
-official sponsor stickers
-wheel axles
-ergal column nut
-brake pedal
- mitani carbon filter cover, twin air filter

-  titanium bolts everywhere

Subtle detail, the ex-factory ignition cover from Banyeres.
... It is only different from the original by its lighter color than in the series.
I still need a few titanium screws to put everything together.

When reassembling the casing, I apply a little 15w50 oil to the inside of the cover with a brush in order to seal off the interior surface from oxygen.
It is made of magnesium and this alloy oxidizes easily to end up in powder form.
