To carry out my other projects, I bought a 3rd 315R.
A 2002 model.
The objective of this one is to make a replica completely overhauled motorcycle, precise and efficient as the original for regular riding.
The original fork (in very good condition) went on the Ogawa RTLF Replica.
The fork (black tubes) of the 4rt (now RTLF) takes place after a major overhaul on this 315R
The shock absorber is completely overhauled (gaskets, buffer, drain, pressure, ball joints)
New linkage, new rockers.
Carbon swingarm protection, and carbon kevlar fork guard.
Swingarm pad, crown guard, front number plate, gas barrel, original grips.
The covering receives a two-component varnish resistant to hydrocarbons.

The engine will be opened and overhauled.

Overhaul of brake calipers (ultrasound, special grease, etc.)
Ultrasonic carburetor overhaul and new parts (gaskets, bushel, needle, idle jet)
Some stickers taking the look of Lampkin's 2002 motorcycle... and frankly, I find it super pretty.

38 pilot jet right. 3.5 turn fuel screw (original 35)

The replacement air filter foam is “lighter” than the original Montesa.

The engine therefore breathes much more air.

  • ahell changed the title to Montesa 315R 2002 D.Lampkin factory replica
Latest modifications or parts:
-Mitani texalium swingarm protectors
- titanium fork 3xclamps screws, footrest plate and front frame tie rods.
- Teflon handlebar end and titanium screws.
- Michelin markings on the tires.
- Mitani carbon air filter intake
- Renthal handlebars and grips.
The motorcycle runs very well.
The chassis is well suspended for a 90kg rider, it brakes well.
The motor is full and linear.
The bike is efficient on natural climbs.
It's a very nice bike and in its 2002 Lampkin livery, I find it great.
I'm going to do a test with a tech aluminum fork to see how the bike behaves.
I also have a longer Banyeres muffler (straight tube) to try.

Mounting the Tech aluminum fork.
Unlike the assembly with the 32 spokes wheels of the 4rt,
Mounting a 315r wheel (36x spokes) requires an 11mm spacer on the caliper side wheel axle.

The visual result is nice.
The black tubes are darker than the Showa DLC treated steel tubes.
The anodized Tech lowers reflect a bit of the factory Showa color.
I like it a lot.
The weight gain with the tech wheel axle is 750 grams.

It's not a huge gain but it's still noticeable when driving in general.
Having observed it, it helps to lighten a slightly clumsy front axle.

Assembly of the 2nd delivery of titanium screws: -125 grs
Mitani aluminum clutch assembly: -250grs

Currently dry weight: 74.125kg

With a machined flywheel and a Michelin Xlight I can remove another 1kg.

The factory bikes around 71kg (much more magnesium ...)
