trialsmm
What is the height, rise, bend, etc of stock TY175 bars? Who makes a good stock replacedment?
jackman
I don't have the original bars, they were bent about 10 years before I was born lol.. But, when they were bent my Dad replaced them with RENTAL bars and they have a great feel to them IMO. Here are a few pics of mine.. hope it will help you get an idea (the bike is at the cottage right now so I can't take a measurement at the moment, sorry): pic of Bars with nothing yet added to them Rider's view Close up angle shot Edit: Here is a link to B&J Racing.. In case you haven't come across this site yet!! :-) Edited March 20, 2006 by Jackman
johnnyboxer
I can measure mine later if you like, but here's a pic or two. I reckon that they're 7" or more at least or the rise angle is steeper than modern bars. I fitted the Majesty I have with modern 6" Renthals, which are braced.........but don't seem as high as the old ones Majesty Front View
trialsrfun
Have a look on the BVM web-site they list bars from Renthal, Apico, Domino/Tomaselli etc but I do not recall any of them being as high as those 70s bars. I do not think Renthal have made bars without the cross brace for a long time. Slightly lower bars and lowered footrests would give back the original riding position but would improve the overall handling.
trialsmm
Thanks, I just took my two bikes apart. One bike has low bars and the other has original bent bars. Those pictures are GREAT! Love that Majesty!
jackman
Good luck with the build! If you need to see anything else, there isn't a corner of this bike which I haven't photographed lol
