Im sorry but thats just stupid for two reasons.

1. Why keep something for 18 years and hardly ride it, i could not have any form of vehicle that i bought brand new sitting in a garage and just ignore it.

2. who ever is paying that much for it is a bit :) . I dont care how much they may be worth in the future, they arent particularly nice to ride and i always think the ones ive seen sound rough, i dont mind people paying silly money like that for proper classics but that bikes only eighteen years old.

A shame if it was to be used by the buyer.

What is the point of buying it if you are not going to use it - its a trials bike not an ornament!

Even most vintage and veteran road bikes get used a little as do many classic road race bikes - even if its only in parades. As for trials bikes and scrambles bikes they were made to be trialed or raced.

Very few people are interested in 'classic' trials bikes - especially those made after 1965. Polish it up and park it at a vintage rally next to something as mundane as a rusty and oily BSA bantam and guess what - 99% of people will be looking at the Bantam and ignore the Yamaha.

Each to their own I guess but to just use a competetive trials bike as an ornament is pointless - yes the pinky is old but it is still competedtive in club trials in the right hands. Then agin perhaps the buyer has decided that he/she is better paying

Very nice bike!! But I think it would be a shame to not ride it;). Unless you tend to treat your bikes like $#!7, this baby should be shown off among your friends! Remember.. as long as you know the limit of your riding skill, all bikes will remain mint condition :)

three things make me suspect its not genuine. 18 years back from now makes this bike a 1988 model which is later than the year they state of 1986. but as mentioned before the pinky didnt come out till 1990.

the other thing is the colour of the forks. the blue looks too light. i've had a pinky and im sure they werent that light.

and finally which i dont acually know due to the not being one on the bike i had. the disk guard looks wrong. even though it matches the seat. it looks more like a montesa 310 guard.

other than that if this is genuine then its a good buy! these bikes where bomb proof and i won many times on mine.
