gizza5
a) I was trying it out in an event, prototype testing if you like I didn't have any back up for fuel and thought the extra capacity was sensible? Obviously worked as they have gone to manufacture them now, not critisising, but just an observation Don't really see why Gas Gas UK are strongly recommending them for the SSDT, they have coped in previous years, money spinner comes to mind
ham2
Went to a 250 after 6 years on the Sherco, very pleased so far, love the gears best of all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nigel-- back in Jan you posted this : ''If anything now on a gas gas my complaint is the gearbox ratios which I regard as a serious defect now, affecting a very small % of sections only.'' What has changed in the meantime? Edited March 26, 2006 by HAM2
nigel dabster
If you read carefully in context it makes sense. I shall elaborate if it helps? Had 6 shercos and loved everyone 'cept the 04 masqurauding as an 05 (I think). Rode the 06 and it was no better than my 05, again excepting the forks, which are way better than 05. (not forgetting I had a special shock so that was probably better too) Didn't fancy the black frame and wheels, felt the Gas Gas pro was the closest in terms or riding position and feel fancied one but wanted more than a day or so. As I have said to variuos peolple at different times the only way to really be objective is to own the bike and fettle it and pay for it for a raesonable period of time. This is what I am doing with the Gas Gas I now have. Riding the thing apart from anything else, I have found that after six years on a Sherco the best thing about it (GG) is the gears (ratios). This gives me 4 section gears and the rev range in each seems better too. OK?
ham2
Cheers Nigel Just re-read my last post.. It could have been misinterpreted as a smart-ar5ed comment.. it wasn't intended to be. I have owned 4 Shercos. I am on the look out for a new bike, my knees are going and I can detect a difference in the quality/comfort of the rear suspension on most of the current trials bikes. The Sherco shock is definitely the worst for comfort ( but maybe not performance--I'm no expert--). The Pros are a more comfortable bike for me but I am aware of their 'femma' qualities.. the main Pro problem is grip as I cannot 'drive' my knees into the pegs like I used to . This is why I have followed your postings so closely (I am not a stalker!). As you said the 06 Sherco was not a big step forward in the rear suspension department, so I am looking to other brands. Ta! Wayne

sir dabs alot
I hear lots of you saying that the Gasser has reliability issues as compared to the Sherco. I have heard the same about Shercos in some instances. Am I correct in what I'm hearing?
