overdale Posted August 14 Report Share Posted August 14 The thermostat is held in by a circlip, so you'll need circlip pliers to remove that. For best access you'll have to drop the radiator out to the limit of the fan wires - you may have to release a couple of cable ties, then as the thermostat is quite a tight fit and I usually screw a self tapping screw into the back of it to help prise it out. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

stu109 Posted August 22 Author Report Share Posted August 22 I have replaced the switch and the fan but the bike is still overheating when it stands running for a while. It looks to me as if the fan is running more slowly that I remember. Can anyone tell me what voltage I should be getting at the fan? stu109 Posted August 25 Author Report Share Posted August 25 Hi I only had 1.6 volts at the fan. Cleaned all the connectors particularly the one to the regulator. stu109 Posted September 22 Author Report Share Posted September 22 Took the bike out today and it overheated again. Fan running slowly. Cleaned connections again, no joy. By chance can across this thread - As suggested disconnected the fuel solenoid (which was not working anyway) and fan now back up to speed.
