trial_master Posted April 14, 2006 Report Share Posted April 14, 2006 I havent been on the forum for a while, but when i had a tapping on my 290 it was when the water pump shaft had gone. Sounded like a noisey diesel car. only did it in the higher gears when going fast(ish). Check your coolant level aswell. The tapping is basically the engine overheating.
