Can stator core be repaired as parts are long gone

It's a permanent magnet is it not?  There are a lot of iron filings stuck to the magnet in the photo, that might cause shorts and indicates a wear problem, I would clean it all up, test the coils and try again.

I'd pull it off to determine exactly why it split, see if the crack can be reduced back to zero and hit all the cracks with superglue to reinstall and see if it splits open again.

FRANCO MORINI BASED MOTOR shown in the txt boy parts book available at www.thehellteam.com has a stator magneto flywheel that looks exactly the same as one out of a KTM SX50  that are easily available on Ebay for between £30 to £40 , I am not saying it will fit straight on your version you would have to ask a seller to give you all the relevant measurements to see if it would.

Unlikely but to know for sure you would need another same model bike that is working.

Without a picture of the center, it looks like an aluminum core with steel plate on front.  Is so or even if not, you may be able to pry the magnets out, have the aluminium piece remade and epoxy the magnets back in place.  You could take it to a shop that does machine work and ask.

I found this also.
